GARMENT CARE LABELS

Garment care labels are found on yarns and material as well as on garments.

Colours

If a symbol is shown in RED it means "DO NOT"
A cross through a symbol also means "DO NOT"
If a symbol is shown in YELLOW it means "WITH CARE"
If a symbol is shown in GREEN it means "OK"
If a symbol is black, the colour has no special significance (but the symbol does).

Bleach

Can be bleached with chlorine.
Do not bleach.

Dry Cleaning

Can be dry cleaned.
Do not dry clean.

Drying

Can be machine dried. If Yellow, dry on low heat.

Dry Flat.

Can be dried on a line.

Dry on a clothes hanger. (Drip Dry).

Ironing

Can be ironed. If yellow, iron with a cool iron.

Can be ironed hot.

Iron on medium heat. Symbol may be green.

Iron cool. Symbol may be yellow.

Do not iron.

Washing

May be machine washed. Temperature of the water may be indicated in the symbol.
Hand wash only. Temperature of the water may be indicated in the symbol.
