LOPI PATTERN BOOKSAlafoss Lopi is a bulky weight yarn, knitting 13 or 14 stitches to 10 cm (4 inches) on 6mm needles. The sweaters knit up fast, and are generally knit on circular needles. The best Lopi yarns come from Iceland, where the unique breed of sheep produce a unique wool which has incredible natural colours, and real warmth.
There is also Alafoss Lett Lopi which is is an Aran weight yarn, knitting 18 stitches and 24 rows to 10 cm (4 inches) on 5mm (US 8) needles.
We offer here a selection of books which feature Lopi Designs from Iceland.
Lopi Book 27. This book includes adults and cildren's sweaters and cardigans, coats, scarves,
dresses, wrist warmers, leg warmers, blanket, and mits. As always, great value.
Lopi Book 26. This book includes hats, socks, infants and children's sweaters, adult cardigans
and sweaters, tunics, and even a horse blanket! Great value again.
Lopi Book 25 Another great book from the Lopi people. This book contains sweaters for
adults and children, bags, a skirt, mits, cardigans for children and adults, vests, hats,
scarves, a dog sweater, and even a mat. Great value as always.
Lopi Book 24 is full of very original designs, not just sweaters in this one; there are
mitts, tea cosies, scarves, ponchos, tams, pillows and blankets. There are the traditional yoke sweaters,
using the new colours and some with a difference. The really cool design that will make you think
is the reversible sweater, very neat. Another great design is the black sweater with the large
fairisle "X" what an awesome idea. This book uses Alafoss Lopi and Lopi Light (Lett Lopi).
As always with these books, it offers terrific value.
Lopi Book 23 contains seven new designs knit in Lopi wool. There are two jackets and 5 cardigans,
all in the traditional Icelandic yoke designs.
Lopi Accessories Book 22. This book uses Lopi Wool to knit a variety of accessories. There
are five hats, five sets of mittens, and one pair of socks. Some of the hats are fair isled, and
others are knit in one colour with motifs embroidered on using scraps of Lopi Light yarn.
Lopi Book 21 includes designs in Lett Lopi, Lopi, and Bulky Lopi. It has 28 designs including
sweaters, cardigans, and a poncho, for adults and children.
Lopi Book 20 features 12 patterns in Bulky Lopi,
Regular Lopi, and Lopi Light (Lett Lopi). The patterns include adult and children's patterns.
Lopi Book 18 An Istex Book. This 1998 book contains an amazing 41 Lopi
patterns.
Lopi Book 12 An Istex Lopi Book. Another book using natural
colours and bright colours to create sweaters, cardigans, hats and mitts for adults
and children. This book contains no less than 34 designs.
Lopi Naturals An Istex Lopi Book. This book contains
22 patterns for adults and children, and includes sweaters, cardigans and hats.
