This is a technique class in which many samples of various "Quilt It In Stages" samples will be made. These samples are small, only the size of a sheet of paper. Notes for each of the various techniques will be given. These resulting samples and their matching notes can be put into a 3-ring binder to create a reference file for future use when deciding how to quilt a quilt is being considered. Many samples will be shown. Photos of the samples for personal use will be allowed during the class. Actual quilt tops, quilt projects, and plans for quilt projects are encouraged to be brought to the class. This class will allow the student to have many choices as to how to quilt their quilts on their home sewing machine. Either machine guided stitching or free motion stitching can be used for any of these techniques. This class is a valuable reference for any quilter who wishes to machine quilt their own quilts. All of the techniques taught in this class use only the sewing machine. None of the techniques result in ridges in the quilts. Some are done during the construction of the quilt top. Others can be done after the quilt top is completed. None of these techniques involves the whole quilt sandwich under the sewing machine. This sectional approach to machine quilting your quilt makes it easier to handle and results in better quality of quilting because of the reduced struggle with the quilt while quilting it.
This is a eight week course, 2 hours per week. Cost $128.00 plus supplies.
