Yarn Forward is Ottawa's leading retailer of hand knitting yarn and knitting needles, crochet hooks, knitting and crochet patterns, books, and knitting accessories. Yarn Forward has a store in downtown Ottawa, and a store in Kanata.

Our Ottawa store also sells sewing machines and sergers, and is known as Yarn Forward & Sew-On. Yarn Forward & Sew-On is an authorized Husqvarna Viking and Singer Dealer. Please note that we cannot ship sewing machines and sergers. We are only authorized to sell to personal shoppers at our Bank Street (Ottawa) store.

Yarn Forward & Sew-On is a Dealer of Excellence and therefore offer you an Extra Support Package (ESP). ESP gives you, the customer, An Extended Warranty, Free User Instruction Classes, Sewing Club Projects, Customer Bulletins, Telephone Assistance, Software Assistance, Preferred Customer Status, Full Trade-Up Program, Teaching Opportunities, Husqvarna Viking Credit Card Plan, and Newsletters.

As a Dealer of Excellence, we also demonstrate Husqvarna Viking Software and are trained to provide you with all the support and service you require when you purchase the software. We are also certified 4D Software Specialists.

We also offer lessons in knitting, crochet, and at the Bank Street store, sewing, quilting, and embroidery software. Lessons are aimed at all levels of experience from novice to experienced.

Yarn Forward started as a mail order company on November 1st, 1996, selling knitting products on the Internet.
On September 15th, 1997, Yarn Forward opened its first retail outlet in Kanata, Ontario.
On October 8th, 1998, Yarn Forward opened its second retail outlet in Ottawa, Ontario. The Ottawa store is also a Husqvarna Viking Sewing Machine and Serger dealer.
In May 2005, Yarn Forward won the Husqvarna Viking International Rising Star award.
